MyBI runs on your own computer. Your datasets, models, dashboards and project files stay on your machine, we don't upload them, we can't see them and nothing leaves your device unless you choose to export, publish or share it.
1. Who we are
“MyBI”, “we” and “us” mean the maker of the MyBI desktop app, its companion apps (MyBI Enterprise Studio, MyBI Forensic) and this website (my-bi.github.io). You can reach us at mybusinessintel@gmail.com.
2. Your work stays on your device
MyBI processes your data with an on-device engine and stores it in project files on your own disk, .mbipj projects, .mbidb datasets and related formats, encrypted at rest by default. We receive no telemetry about your data, your projects or how you use the app.
If you add a camera or video card to a dashboard, the feed is processed on your device only. Optional detection features, which can estimate visual attributes for on-screen overlays and triggers, run only after you enable them on that card, entirely on-device; detection models are downloaded as data files and cached. MyBI does not identify people and no frame or detection result leaves your machine unless you save or export it yourself.
3. What we don't collect
- Your datasets, tables, queries, models, dashboards or canvases.
- The contents of files you import or projects you build.
- Behavioural analytics about how you use the app.
4. What we do process
Account identity
Signing in is required, so we process your name, email address and profile picture as supplied by your chosen sign-in method, Apple, Google, Microsoft or an email address and password and, for organisation members, your organisation and role. Sign-in and the account database are handled on our behalf by Supabase. We use this only to sign you in and apply your organisation membership and role.
Support & feedback
If you send feedback or a bug report from the app, we store your message and, only if you choose to attach them, basic diagnostic details, so we can answer it. You can delete a report you've sent.
You can also send feedback from the support page on this website, which uses a Google Form. That route needs no MyBI account and is not linked to one; whatever you type into the form goes to Google Forms and is held there under Google's terms. The form is not loaded until you press the button that opens it, so nothing reaches Google if you do not use it.
Cloud features you switch on
- Publishing & sharing, when you publish a dashboard (to a MyBI Server, a static site or a read-only
.mbixfile), only what you select is sent and only when you ask for it. - Cloud AI, the assistant runs on-device by default. If you connect an external AI provider yourself, the prompts and context you submit go to that provider under its own terms; MyBI makes this clear before anything leaves the app.
- Cloud backup, each backup is encrypted on your device with a key only you hold before it is stored in your own cloud storage (such as iCloud). It travels and rests encrypted and we cannot read it.
5. This website
This site is served as static pages by GitHub Pages. It stores your theme preference (light/dark/system) locally in your browser and needs no account. The support page can embed a Google Form, which loads only after you press the button that opens it. Standard web-server request logs may be kept by the hosting provider for security and reliability.
6. Why we process it
- To sign you in and provide the features you ask for.
- To manage organisations and roles.
- To keep the service secure and to answer support requests.
- To meet legal obligations.
Our legal bases (UK/EU GDPR) are contract (features you request), legitimate interests (operating and securing the service) and consent (optional features you switch on).
7. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share only what these processors need:

We may disclose information if required by law.
8. International transfers
Our processors may store data outside your country. Where that happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) as required by law.
9. Security
On-device data is protected by your operating system, by encrypted project containers and, for sensitive items, by device-bound encryption. Exports can be sealed with standard, audited cryptography (Ed25519 signatures, SHA-256 hash chains). Account data held by our processors is protected by their security controls and row-level access rules.
10. Retention
Your project data lives on your device for as long as you keep it. Account data is kept while your account is active. Accounts left inactive for more than one month may be deleted, along with their cloud account record, your local project files are not affected. Feedback you send from the app is kept until you delete it or your account. Responses submitted through the website form are held in Google Forms and deleted once they are no longer needed to answer you.
11. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request to access, correct, export or delete the account information we hold and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email mybusinessintel@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
12. Children
MyBI is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
13. Changes & contact
