These terms govern your use of MyBI, the desktop application, its companion apps and this website. By downloading, installing or using MyBI, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. The service
MyBI is a business-intelligence platform for macOS, plus companion apps (MyBI Enterprise Studio, MyBI Forensic) and this website. The core app runs on your device; your data stays with you (see our Privacy Policy).
2. Your content stays yours
You retain all rights to the data you import and the projects, models and dashboards you create. We claim no ownership of your content and do not access it. Your projects are saved in portable files you control. You are responsible for your own backups.
3. Licence to use MyBI
Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use MyBI for your own or your organisation's internal purposes. The MyBI software, name and logos are our intellectual property; open-source components are provided under their own licences as noted in the app.
4. Accounts
MyBI requires an account to use the app. You must be at least 16 years old or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher, to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure and are responsible for activity under your account. You must have authority to bind any organisation you set up.
5. Charges
MyBI is currently provided free of charge, with an account. There is no billing at this time. Organisations wanting to run MyBI across teams, with identity, roles, seat licensing and SSO, can reach us at mybusinessintel@gmail.com to discuss custom terms. If charges are introduced in future, the applicable terms will be shown to you before any charge and this section will be updated.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use MyBI unlawfully or to process data you have no right to; (b) reverse-engineer, resell or sublicense the software except as permitted by law; (c) circumvent licensing, verification or security controls; or (d) misuse our infrastructure (for example, abusing publishing or cloud features).
7. Third-party content
MyBI supports add-ons such as colour palettes and chart adapters, including third-party ones. Third-party content is provided by its authors and used at your discretion, we are not responsible for it and external services (such as cloud AI providers you connect) are governed by their own terms.
8. Intellectual property & feedback
All rights in MyBI not expressly granted are reserved. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use them to improve the service.
9. Disclaimers
MyBI is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of results or uninterrupted operation, to the maximum extent permitted by law. You are responsible for validating any analysis before relying on it for decisions.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyBI will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages or for loss of data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Termination
You may stop using MyBI at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms. On termination, your licence ends, but your local project files remain yours on your device.
12. Changes
We may update the service and these terms from time to time. We'll update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
